
Private Pilot
License (PPL)
Whether you intend to fly for a career or for fun, it all starts here. This course will train and certify you to fly aircraft for personal use (not for hire) around town or across the country. Don't own a plane? Holding this license allows you to rent aircraft for use. Skip the stoplights, broaden your horizons, and learn to fly.
Course Overview
Prerequisites:

It's recommend to complete a medical exam with an Aviation Medical Examiner before flight training

Be at least 16 years old to hold a Student Pilot certificate

Be able to read, speak, write, and understand the English language
Course Requirements:
Log at least 40 hours of flight time*, of which at least:

(20) hours are flight training from an authorized instructor

(10) hours of solo flight training

(3) hours of cross country; (3) hours at night, (3) hours of instrument time
Pass a written and practical flight test (checkride)
* According to the FAA, the U. S. average number of hours for persons without a hearing impairment completing the private pilot certification requirements is approximately 75 hours.
