Our Story

AIRO is a hub for flight operations and networking, making aviation accessible to all. From pilot training and tours to business solutions, we offer services tailored to diverse needs nationwide.

In 2005, AIRO opened its doors in Northwest Arkansas as Arkansas Helicopters, a helicopter touring company. Passion for safety fueled the company’s growth and expansion. We expanded into Tulsa, as Fly Tulsa Helicopters, then Branson, as Branson Helicopter Tours, then Kansas City, as Kansas City Helicopter Tours, with our most recent addition in Lake Ozark as Lake Ozark Helicopters. 

Our modest helicopter company grew into a significant fleet of helicopter and fixed wing aircraft providing tours, flight school and aerial services.

We outgrew our individual location names and wanted to be more recognizable to our customers with the various services and opportunities we provide.

So, along came AIRO.

AIRO (αἴρω) is a Greek verb meaning "to lift, raise, or take up." It embodies our mission: to lift others up by making aviation accessible and inclusive through exceptional training, unforgettable experiences, and reliable services that empower individuals and businesses.
