This certification qualifies you to teach fixed-wing students to fly using Instrument Flight Rules (IFR) — one of the most sought-after instructor credentials, and a common next step for pilots building flight hours toward an airline career.

Course Overview

Prerequisites:

  • Hold a Commercial Pilot License

  • Be able to read, speak, write, and understand the English language


Course Requirements:

There are no minimum flight hours. You will train to pass the required tasks:  

  • One - two written exams

  • Checkride
